Jan News from Nutmeg Pomona No. 16

It’s hard to report on the activities of the Pomona meeting when you miss the meeting, but the grapevine has been great. Members reported a good meeting and delicious refreshments- chili made by a member of Wallingford Grange and delicious sweets made by the members of Cheshire Grange.

Jan News from Wallingford Grange No. 33

At our November Grange meeting, 146 pounds of holiday sides were collected for Master’s Manna. Thank you to our Grangers, for making the Thanksgiving holiday a bit brighter for dozens of families, and thank you to Bill and Kathy Barnes, for bringing the collected holiday sides to Master’s Manna.

Interested in learning to play chess Already a chess expert but looking for new opportunities to play? Come to the Wallingford Grange, first Saturdays of each month to play or learn. Maker Monday - February

Join us twice a month at the Wallingford Grange Hall where you can do the craft of your choice and stay for the socialization, or we can teach you how to piece a quilt. These gatherings are open to all! You don’t have to be a grange member or a quilter to join. Quilts of Valor Program offers comforting quilts to veterans of all wars. The program is continuing to work towards making more finished quilts for now and in the future. If you know a veteran or service member who should be presented with a quilt, please nominate them using this form: https://bit.ly/3tzdgDL . Heart Book Folding Artwork Craft Class

Just in time for Valentine’s Day learn the art of book folding and make this heart design. Perfect for ages 12+. Learn the step by step process of creating a book folded piece of artwork from a pattern. The pattern used for this class will be the heart pictured. All supplies and tools needed for the class are supplied and included in the price. Each participant will create one heart book. Pre registration is required for this class by emailing heartwoodhappenings@gmail.com or by purchasing tickets through Eventbrite in the link below (note: Eventbrite charges a fee for using their site.)

February Pancake Breakfast

Tickets for adults are $6 and for youth 12 and under are $3. A pancake breakfast comes with pancakes and sausage to eat and hot coffee, hot chocolate, tea, or juice to drink. Pancake flavors include chocolate chip, buttermilk, and monthly special. Bring friends! Or make friends - the big center table is open to anyone who doesn't want to sit alone.

2025 Fair/Fundraising Meeting - February

If you are interested in learning more about the fair, have new ideas for it, or are interested in just helping out, please come and join us at this meeting. Please bring ideas about upcoming rundraisers for 2025 as well. If you have ideas for new fundraisers or educational events the Grange can do in 2025 or would like to contribute to future fundraisers, feel free to come by! Join us for Wascal Wednesdays at the Wallingford Grange, a free and fun-filled playdate for kids ages 2-5! Happening every second Wednesday of the month from 4 PM to 5 PM, this lively hour offers a safe, welcoming space for little ones to run, play, and make new friends. It’s the perfect midweek energy-burner and a chance for parents to enjoy a little calm. Spread the word and bring the joy—we can’t wait to see you there!
