OCTOBER 4, 2023 -- Granby Grange held a successful Grange Fair on Sept. 9 with over 100 exhibits/entries, a bake sale, teacup auction, mum sale, tours of the hall and community garden, outdoor hay bailer display, historic tool display, beekeeping display, and our educational program presented by Kim Becker on mental health awareness. Over 70 people attended the fair. We participated in the Granby Open Farm Day on September 16 with an open house, mum sale, tag/book sale, tours and a chili cook-off.
Wutka Home Improvements has been selected to install our new handicap ramp and unisex bathroom on the main level. The project is being funded by the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving Pomeroy Brace Fund and the Connecticut State Grange Foundation.
On Sat., Oct. 7, members will be participating in Stony Hill Village Community Serve Day to help spruce up the grounds.
On Oct. 14 Granby will be participating in the Salmon Brook Hist. Soc. Flea Mkt. Mums will be offered for sale and members will be sharing updates on Granby Grange. The event will be 9-3.
On Oct. 30 & 31 Granby Grange will be participating with other community and Pomona Granges in the Conn. State Grange deaf awareness event at the American School for the Deaf. A Trunk or Treat will be held on Oct. 30 from 6 to 7. On Oct. 31 there will be a Halloween Maze and Costume Parade distributing Grange and other materials to students and increasing deaf awareness among community members.
Next meeting will be in Oct. and will be our installation of officers. A date will be announced.
