SEPTEMBER 2009 -- Hi everyone! Sitting here, trying to remember where the first half of the summer has gone while I am typing this report. The second weekend in July I ventured to New York for the Northeast Youth Conference. The Connecticut bunch had a great time learning about the National Grange building Saturday morning.
We also enjoyed the tour of the university campus. Saturday afternoon was the sign-a-song and public speaking contests that ended up spilling into that evening because we had so many participants. That evening we enjoyed a DJ who provided music for dancing.
Sunday morning we held our church service and the drill team competition with New York winning the competition.
Though it seems to be a long summer to me, I hope that everyone is working on the youth reports that are due October 1. I would love to see an increase in the number of participants this year.
Also for the State Session I am looking for all past CSYG officers to help close the State Session on Friday night. If you were a past CSYG officer and would like to help please contact me at 203-213-6235. Thank you.
