From The Lecturer's Desk
Looking ahead...

Contest Entry:  WHY I JOINED THE GRANGE by Sue Gray, Ekonk Community Grange
As a toddler, I was taken to Hampton on Friday evenings and slept in a kitchen cabinet.
As I got older, I was allowed upstairs only for “the Program”.
Twice a month my entire family gathered and good times prevailed.
At fourteen, I came “of age” and became a “Granger”!

Looking ahead Grange Sunday is June 14 at Good Will Grange Hall, Naubuc Avenue, Glastonbury.  The day will start with a church service by our State Chaplain, Amy Whitcomb.  This will be followed by lunch served by our Youth.  At 1:00 we will hold our Talent and “A Number” contests.  This will be an enjoyable, family style event.  Why not invite your family to come with you.  This would be an excellent time to show them the benefits of the Grange.  In the essay above Sue was shown good times at the Grange which lead to her joining.  Let’s show our families that we still have these same good times.  This is also a great time to bring your friends along to show them why you like the Grange so much.  Just tell them there are great people, great food and good times to be had by all.  Then, invite them all along to see for themselves.

Hopefully you all have your “A Numbers” and Talent entries in place.  If not it still isn’t too late.  If your Pomona doesn’t have an “A Number” entry from a Subordinate Grange, the Pomona Lecturer should be arranging for a number with any or all of your Subordinates taking part.  Help us have a great show.  Offer to help.  It will be lots of fun.
