JUNE 26, 2020 -- Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I hope this letter finds you all well and healthy. As the Fourth of July approaches, the State of Connecticut is just starting to open up more businesses and churches. It is time that we should think about opening our Grange Halls for meetings. On June 17, Governor Lamont increased the size of social gatherings to 25 inside and 100 outside. Our smaller Granges that have an attendance of less than 25 at their meetings can get back to meeting in person but you must take the following precautions:
1) Keep social distancing with at least 6 feet between members.
2) Wear masks.
3) Have hand sanitizer available.
4) Sanitize all surfaces that are touched (i.e. doors, door handles, chairs, tables, etc.).
5) If restrooms are open, they should be sanitized between each use.
6) For the time being, I suggest we do not serve refreshments because we have to be as safe as we can.
If not meeting in person, I would encourage Granges to use (or continue to use) Zoom for virtual meetings. The Connecticut State Grange has two accounts so there is plenty of meeting availability. Please call or email Membership Director Faith Quinlan to arrange your next meeting. Her email is membership@CTStateGrange.org and her phone is 518-698-2785.
I believe it is time for our Grangers to get back to meeting either in person or virtually. Let us follow the Governor’s protocols and be safe and stay healthy.
Fraternally,
George Russell CT State Grange President/Master president@ctstategrange.org
