May 6, 2019 -- April was Grange month and many Community Granges have opened their Granges with many local activities, pancake breakfasts, chili cook offs, Citizen Award presentations, tag sales, and many more. Many of these events are listed on Facebook and have been picked up by the National Grange Community Service Committee. You can’t stop there take the time and take photos and write up the events, hours by Grangers and hours by non Grangers. Start a Community Service Notebook to enter in the contest in September. Being on Facebook is the start, finish the race and get awarded and recognized for the work your members do in the name of the Grange.
At the March 30th Northeast Leaders Conference banquet, hosted by the Connecticut State Grange, Brother Skip Beebe of Lyme Grange received the Firefighter of the year and was presented with a plaque for the recognition. Rhode Island had a RI State Trooper and his K-9 partner, as well as the Teacher of the Year. Congratulations to all the winners of this contest, which has been continued for 2019, so start looking for this year’s nominations.
Our Community Service is the tool that brings new members into the Grange utilize this and reap from which you sow.
