December 5, 2015 -- Essay by Sue Gray, Ekonk Community Grange #89
Our farm home kitchen is always busy, especially at meal time. We always have four, but most often seven family members or more gather, finding their way to our table to join us. The circle of life as four generations join in eating, talking, laughing, storytelling. Here, love abounds!
Birthdays, anniversaries, holidays are joyous with the 15 of us gathered together around our long farmhouse table, enjoying the bounty prepared and the family united.
We are a meat and potatoes family, beef being the meat of choice, but there is always room for desserts – pies are the most favored, but carrot cake and cheesecake are also family favorites.
So, my favorite place in Connecticut has to be our farm home kitchen, where merriment is plentiful and don’t forget, a happy home is noted for fidelity!
