AUGUST 6, 2014 -- The Connecticut State Grange is pleased to welcome Marie and Scott Nicholson as the National Representatives to the 130th Annual Session, October 16-18 at the Sheraton Hartford South Hotel in Rocky Hill. Marie currently serves as Flora of the National Grange and Scott is the Master of the Montana State Grange.
Marie was first introduced to and joined the Grange in 1981 and is a 33-year member of Corvallis Grange #17 in Corvallis, Mont. She has held several offices on the Subordinate and Pomona levels as well as Flora and Treasurer for the State Grange. She also served as co-Matron of the Bitterroot Junior Grange. In 1995 she and her husband, Scott, represented Montana as Young Couple in Harrisburg, Pa., and in 1996 she was part of the Youth Officer Team in Spokane, Wash. Her main Grange focus now is participating on the Subordinate level and working in the state office.
Scott, a third-generation Granger, grew up in the Grange and in 1975 became a member as soon a he was eligible at age 14. He has held many Subordinate and Pomona offices and worked his way up through the state offices to become Montana State Grange Master in 2011.
Marie and Scott were married in 1983 and they have two children. Rob, 25, just graduated from college and has relocated to Kansas; and Ceara, 21, is still in college. Marie has worked for the same company for 24 years and has been the bookkeeper for 22 years. In her spare time she enjoys scrapbooking and has recently started making jewelry. Scott is an independent insurance appraiser and his passion is photography. They also have a small hobby sheep ranch that helps fill any additional free time they might have. |
