Extra time to prepare your entries for “Let’s Celebrate Day”
By Joan Ziegler, State Womens Activities Committee Member
JUNE 2007 -- Usually at this time of year we’re hustling to get all our needlework ready for the Fair for the State Judging but this year we have an extra month to finish up our projects. On August 25th at the “Lets Celebrate Day” all of our CWA contests will be judged at Good Will Grange Hall starting at 10 o’clock in the morning. All entries should be at the hall by 9:30.
A Needlework Contest entry form should be placed in a plastic sandwich or snack bag and fastened securely with a Safety Pin to each item. The green Pomona winners’ sheet and the blue Subordinate sheets should accompany the entries. Winners in the State Contest will go on to the New England Contest at the Big E.
All of the other CWA contests as well as the State Lecturer’s Photo Contest will be judged on the same day. Everyone is invited to come to view the entries and stay for the entertainment and refreshments. We’ll also be drawing the names in our CWA Gift Raffle.
Since this will be our first attempt at a new venue for our contests, we hope to have a nice group of spectators to admire the beautiful work of our entrants. You’re welcome to come for the afternoon or just the evening entertainment at 7 p.m. but whichever you decide, do come help us Celebrate!
