OCTOBER 20, 2010 -- Paul Miller of Shoemakersville was named the 2010 Pennsylvania State Granger “Granger of the Year.”
The announcement was made by State Grange President Betsy Huber at last night’s All Granger Banquet held during the 138th Annual PA State Grange Session being held in West Middlesex.
Paul, a Lifetime Grange Member, has been a member of Virginville Grange #1832 for 66 years. He is also a member of the Berks County Pomona Grange #43. He has received his Seventh Degree, the highest Degree attainable in the Grange, The Order of Patrons of Husbandry.
He is a past President of Virginville Grange #1832 and presently serves on their Executive and Building Committees. Paul is also active in the Berks Heim Volunteer Service Board, the Berks Encore, AAA, Zion’s Church, Zion’s Cemetery Board, Berks Historical Society and the Hamburg Historical Society.
In 1988, Miller was named the Virginville Granger of the Year and his family was named the PA State Grange “Family of the Year” in 2008.
Paul has also previously received the Member Recruitment Award from the PA State Grange. |
