APRIL 2010 -- I have just come from a meeting with 8 out of 10 Pomona Lecturers. We take this opportunity each year to discuss in detail all of the Lecturers' programs and contests and do some planning for the future. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them. It is time to get your acts together for the "A Number" contest and find someone to enter the Talent Contest from your area. We know we have talent in the Grange. Let's all show everyone what we have. We also talked about the Lecturers Conference. It should be lots of fun this year. I am looking for skits or other numbers on the State of Texas. Six different flags have flown over the State and we will be honoring each of them. The Spanish influence was different from the French or Mexican. In addition to being an independent state at one time Texas flew both the Confederate and U.S. flags. Please, if you have a number or know of someone who does, let me know.
WHAT THE GRANGE MEANS TO MEBy D. Emily Alexander- N. Haven Grange "When I first joined, it was a place to go meet people, have fun, learn to work with others and be a team player. I am older now and it's friendships, good fellowship and working with the community. But, most of all, right now it mean to me the concerns and caring of the members. Not just our Grange but others who cared when I was sick. I will never be able to repay everyone, except to say THANK YOU."
