  September 6, 2022 --

Sept. 2 or 9: In the State of...

Oct. 7: Program by Deaf Activities Committee

Nov. 4: Hunger Awareness, Grocery Bingo

By the time you are reading this our September program will be history. Plenty of time to sharpen your skills in ASL. Cherry and the Committee will have us learning more about the problems of hearing loss and coping with it at the October meeting. In November as we celebrate Thanksgiving we will be reminded how many in the world are faced with hunger every day. Vernon will also celebrate its 136th Anniversary. If you have any memorable photos or stories to tell, bring them to share.

No one went away hungry from our Picnic in August. It was moved to the A/C Grange Hall because of the heat wave. Hot dogs, potato salad, coleslaw, and so many other delicious dishes were enjoyed and the piece de resistance was home-baked beans. Oh, so good. Discussion was held on the State Session and we will select our delegates in September.  A final vote was taken on raising the dues to $30.00 per year, with all in the affirmative, beginning with the Grange year of October 1, 2022.

Please don’t forget to write cards for servicemen and women. Those are due in November and as always continue to save and collect your canceled stamps. Stay cool and comfortable and have a safe and happy summer.
