Happy 200th Birthday, April 26, to Frederick Law Olmsted! Considered the “Father” of architectural landscape, he also understood the importance of preservation and the physical and mental benefi of being in nature.  A native of Connecticut, he grew up in Hartford (buried there, too) and his early experiences exploring here inspired his work. Best known for his work in Central Park in New York City, some of his most notable designs here in CT are Beardsley Park in Bridgeport, Seaside Park in Bridgeport’s South End, and Walnut Hill Park in New Britain. He also worked on the grounds of the State Capitol and helped create a park system in Hartford. Check out https:// olmsted200.org to see what else he designed or inspired.

Continued Prayers for Peace in Ukraine. Praying for all who have family in harm’s way, that they may be safe.
