Around The Grange
August 2021 News from Vernon Grange No. 52

Aug. 13: Get in the Game

Sept. 3: Music to Our Ears

Busy July meeting, Two Resolutions were passed and the final decision on our Community Service project. We passed a resolution on Vaping and the use of flavored tobacco and another Resolution on the use of drones. For a Community service project this year we will put appropriate materials into

kits for Veterans to make into Para chord bracelets and also kits for the children of Veterans involved with the support services of the Chrysalis Foundation. Our Lecturer has asked us to save and collect pieces of scrap book pages we may have, and as always white socks are needed.

There was a discussion on whether or not to hold our annual picnic. A lot of pros and cons regarding a safe and sanitary way to do it. We would very much like to hear from other Granges as to how they have handled the safe serving of food ---because a picnic isn’t a picnic without a good variety of yummy food. Please call Cherie at 860-875-1518 or Nancy at 860-875 2412 with your suggestions.

Try to stay tick free, remember to check yourself over carefully every time you have been outside doing any kind of yard work, and don’t forget to wear some mosquito repellant. We’ve come so far through this pandemic that we cannot let a little insect bite lead to something serious. Until next time remember that running around in circles does not make you a big wheel.
