Around The Grange
September 2020 News from Oxford Grange No. 194

  September 1, 2020 --

Sept. 2: Business Meeting

Sept. 12: 2020 Chili cook-off with Oxford Selectmen as judges

Sept. 16:  2020  Social Meeting- Program-Birding

Oxford Grange is back in form with a series of fundraisers planned for the  rest  of  the year, provided that COVID-19 restrictions don’t derail our plans. A chili cook-off is set for September 12 from 4:00-7:00 PM. Tickets are $12/person, or $25/family up to four. Plans are being made to prevent overcrowding that could cause viral transmission. Rena has been mowing the grounds containing the lawn and gardens put in by Raye Hodgson. All looks neat and well kept.

A musical program is planned for the fall. Keep posted for that. We have a tentative schedule set to raise funds to keep the Grange going and to allow to get ahead with needed work on the hall. Dan Golias and I repaired the split rail fence around the lawns with rails that Rena obtained from a postal customer on her mail route which were retrieved by Glenn and his pick up truck. Glenn, Rena and I removed a maple tree that was impinging on the wires from the road to the hall, and plans are in the works to remove the large and dying evergreen on the front.
