Around The Grange
August 2019 News from North Stonington Community Grange No. 138

By Nancy R. Weissmuller

  August 6, 2019 --

Aug. 9: “All Aboard”

Aug. 23: “To Infinity & Beyond”

We have lost yet another of our Golden Sheaf members. Elizabeth Miner went on to the Great Grange Above on June 7th. She will be sadly missed.

Our Election of Officers returned all officers to their stations. Robert Miner will again lead us as our Master.

Nineteen hardy Grangers and friends braved the heat of a summer’s eve to enjoy a varied menu of delicious potluck dishes, augmented by hamburgers, hot dogs and ice cold lemonade. Tables were set up in the shade and all relaxed to enjoy a friendly evening of food and conversation.

The men will have the program at our August 9 meeting with the ladies providing the refreshments. The tables are turned at the Aug. 23 meeting, with the ladies entertaining and the men wearing the aprons. And if those pesky thunderstorms will just keep away that oppressive summer heat next time we’ll tell you all about joyous July.
