Around The Grange
April News from Lyme Grange No. 147

By Lois Evankow

  April 27, 2019 --

May 2: We will confer the Third & Fourth Degrees, Harvest Supper @ 6:30 P.M.

May TBA: 9th Annual Plant & Food Sale

June 6: Memorial Service. Practice for “Let’s Celebrate” Day and Baking Contest.

Due to our parking lot not being plowed, we postponed our March meeting one week with a wonderful meeting on Riley Tefft’s 15th birthday. A cake was fired up and her two favorite ice cream flavors were served.

Spring is showing its wonderful entrance. Snow drops are up with white buds and I’m sure will burst into bloom soon.

The Lyme-Old Lyme Boy Scout Troop has the most Eagle Scouts in the state. They continue to do projects for the Lyme Grange Fair. Most recently, the main staircase on our grounds needs replacement. The Scout’s Council has approved the project.

We voted to allow the local high school “graduation party” project “Cow Chip Raffle” to use our fairgrounds, a relief to organizers. By the time you read this, we will have presented 13 certificates from 75 years to 40 years to deserving members.

Happy Spring!
