JANUARY 2, 2019 --
A new chain link fence was placed around the condemned former Bridgewater Grange building in mid-November. Bridgewater First Selectman Curis Read commented that the town is still waiting for a report from the State Historic Preservation Office on the building, but in the meantime was asked not to knock it down. Several area residents, who hope to save the building, circulated a petition in August to avoid demolition. The Grange building has oil contamination underneath the foundation that needs to be removed due to environmental and potential pollution concerns to nearby businesses. |
