Lyme Grange December 2018 News

By Lois Evankow

  DECEMBER 21, 2018 --

We were honored to have the new State Master, George Russell visit us on November 1 to present Arthur (Skip) Beebe with the firefighter of the year award.  It was very touching.  Skip was very appreciative.  George announced it was his very first official visit since becoming State Master.

One of our new members, Evan St. Louis, was congratulated upon completing all the requirements and earning Eagle Scout status.

Our Sec. Marilyn Stitham, had a cake made to honor Skip, not only was it delicious but of course had a toy fire truck on top.

We collected non-perishable food for social services and two turkeys have been promised for Thanksgiving.

Our gatekeeper Mary Powell-St. Louis’ hubby, Tom, won tenth place in the Apple Pie Contest at the Association of Connecticut Fairs.  There were 34 entries.  Congratulations, Tom!

We will have a roast pork potluck supper and games at our December meeting.

Jan. 3:  So what do you have to show us?  Show & Tell

Feb. 7:  CWA Projects announced for this year.
