Dec. 8: Christmas Party

At our October 13 meeting Nick Mullane, Chairperson of our Legislative Committee, introduced the two candidates running for First Selectman in November. Each candidate spoke on their qualifications and plans for the future of our town. On Oct. 27, the hall, decorated in spooky Halloween décor, welcomed costumed youngsters and adults to an evening of parades, prizes, games, refreshments and a cup social packed with lots of interesting items. Money raised from the cup social helps to pay for the fruit baskets we deliver in December. We donated a hearty Thanksgiving dinner to 8 needy families in town and gift cards for a happy Christmas to others.

On December 8 we will hold our annual Christmas party. Please bring a wrapped present (marked clearly with the child’s name) for each child you bring with you and leave them (the presents, not the children) in the kitchen so Santa will have a gift in his bag for each one. There will be a short meeting at 7:30 and the party should begin by 8:00. On the 15th we will carol around town and deliver fruit baskets to shut-ins and Golden Sheaf members. Please join us at the Grange Hall at 6:30 and join the fun. And if those golden leaves will just hold on for a few weeks more, next time we will tell you all about novel November.
