On a lovely cool evening in July we had only six members come. Visiting was Ted Beebe, membership committee member of the State Grange. It’s a shame he drove do far for nothing. So sad. Our Master and Overseer were absent. Let’s hope nothing bad has happened to either one to keep them away.
Looking forward to our potluck supper in Aug. and later on in Aug. our Hamburg Fair.
Our August picnic was a huge success with 17 in attendance. We welcomed Norman Narducci, Jr. who came up from Florida to attend a reunion. It’s been a long time since we’ve seen him. Our meeting showed 18 Lyme members and one guest also we have an application for membership on the desk.
Two new members were given the Welcome Ceremony by Dan Mutchler. He does such a fine job.
Our septic system is finally installed at a cost of $2,300- a fraction of the labor and some materials. We thank them.
Sadly a person fell asleep at 11 P.M. last week and mowed down part of our new fence. Our insurance will fi x it. We know who did it but they do not have insurance despite the law requiring it.
Our outside stairs will be fixed this next week. Thank you, Skip and Jim.
The Secretary read our nomination for “Granger of the Year.” This will be sent to the proper people for consideration.
Several people volunteered to help clear our hall so we can set up tables and boxes for our handcraft display at the Fair.
It was a fun evening. Our Lecturer just returned from Lecturer’s Conference and we all got to sing “I’ve Got that Good Grange Spirit”.
She is all fired up! Hope the man upstairs sends us some super-duper fantastic weather for our Fair. |
