Around The Grange
September News from North Stonington Community Grange

By Nancy Weissmuller

  September 8, 2017 --

Sept. 8: “Every Dog Has His Day”

Sept. 22: TBA

We had a very successful North Stonington Agricultural Fair even though we lost Thursday night to dangerous thunderstorms. The 4H Expo was also well attended and our little food booth was very busy. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who worked so hard to make this happen.

At our one meeting in July we welcomed two young men from Zambia. They will be seniors at Wheeler High School this year and are sponsored by the Chikumbuso program, which was founded by a local woman. They told us of their lives in Africa and in North Stonington. They hope to go on to college and someday return to their native land to assist others and bring a better life to the area.

The first meeting in September will be installation of officers. Our second meeting is a surprise at this point. Come and find out what it will be! And if those people who are grinding up all of the trees up the road will just go away and grind up someone else’s trees next time, we’ll tell you all about awesome August!
