November News From Harmony Grange

By George Ward

  November 8, 2016 --

Nov. 11: Regular Meeting at 7:30 P.M. Refreshments at 6:30 Lecturer’s Program to be announced later.

Harmony Grange is still negotiating with the Department of Transportation on the taking of Grange property for the roundabout at the intersection of Rts. 111 &110 in Monroe. The construction is scheduled to begin in the Spring of 2017 and will have a huge effect on the activities at Harmony Grange. especially for Fairs since the entrance to Hurd Avenue from Rt. 110 will not be possible. Harmony Grange’s parking lot is located on Hurd Avenue and the property is bordered by RTs. 111, 110 & Hurd Avenue.

Also, there is going to be a cul-de-sac constructed on Hurd Avenue just South of the Grange Hall. During construction, there will be much construction equipment on Hurd Avenue making entrance to the hall diffi cult. We are scheduling special meetings to advise members of these conditions and will take the necessary steps to minimize the effects.

Harmony Grange performed the Welcoming Ceremony on three new members at its September meeting. The ceremony was done by Robert Buck, Steward of the Ct. State Grange.

Harmony Grange is preparing for its Christmas Boutique scheduled for December 3. It will consist of the usual, food, baked goods, jewelry, Christmas Items, antiques and Vender tables.
