November 17, 2016 -- We were happy to see so many guests at our 125th Anniversary celebration October 2. Hank came along with our Grange First Family and helped our lecturer Jean Meehan with the program. We were honored to have several past voting delegates present as well.
Robert Buck was recognized for all he has done for our Pomona as degree master and hosting our annual picnic. Barbara Robert was recognized for all the fresh flowers she furnishes for each meeting and Pomona’s Court. Albert Maddox was recognized for hosting our more recent summer picnics and Joanne Cipriano was recognized for being the chief cook and bottle washer for our roast beef dinners.
Each were presented with a thank you gift.
Ten members of Beacon Valley Grange presented their version of what FRIENDSHIP meant to them as the theme of the celebration was Friendship. Barbara Robert from Bethlehem Grange had a surprise balloon game in which many were smart enough to guess what was in the balloons. We were honored with a Friendship song by Jane and Ruel Miller from Cheshire Grange. Prospect and Wolcott Granges put on a skit of how to make a Friendship Cake.
FRIENDSHIP pays with gifts to all who made the letters that spelled out friendship. Many door prize gifts donated by each of the granges in Excelsior Pomona for which we thank them.
We would like to thank Pat Fischer and Barbara Robert and their crew that worked so hard in the kitchen setting up and preparing refreshments. We would also like to thank all who helped clean up after the celebration.
The future of our Pomona and others will not be known until after our state session. |
