  November 23, 2016 --

Dec. 1 : Certificate Night– Make way for Rudolph.

Dec. 8: Snow date for Dec. 1

Jan. 5: Show and Tell. Let’s share our hobbies and small antiques.

Feb. 2: Ground Hog Day – Will he see his shadow? Heroes and hearts and other fables.

Our October meeting was sparsely attended due to many people being away and illness. People were coughing away – the season has started early.

We draped our charter in loving memory of George LaPlace and John Giaconia. John was a 75 year member who joined us in July 1949.

Many motions were voted. We voted to pay our delegate’s hotel bill for State Session. Our septic system , which is an old cesspool, has failed. It needs to be replaced. Luckily local contractors who do that sort of business will donate their labor. We will have to pay for their materials. It is a considerate amount. How lucky can you get? We will also have to determine exactly where our well is – as modern laws state septic systems must be a certain amount of feet away from the well.

We have 35 people receiving certificates and seals from 25 years to 75 years at our December meeting. Hopefully the weather will behave itself.

Our expert on making posters and newsletter editor, Norman Stitham, is creating a special invitation to be handed out the night in December when we will have our presentation of seals and certificates. Thank you, Norman!

We voted to cancel the potluck supper in December and have it in November. A good move as we will have a lot of company in December– hopefully.

The Executive Committee met and voted to have a bake sale on the same day as the Rummage Sale. Net profit: $277.25.
