October 10, 2016 -- Oct 14: “United We Stand, Divided We Fall”
Oct. 28: “Every Family Has a Skeleton in the Closet”
We are sad to report that we have lost yet another of our Golden Sheaf members. Ruth Hirst was very active in our Grange in years past, having served as our Pomona and serving for years on our Ladies’ Degree Team under Degree Master, Marcia Thompson.
Our one August meeting was held on a very warm (to say the least) evening. The program was held downstairs where the temperature was at least 20 degrees cooler, but still very warm. Various members contributed to the program with games, jokes and information on inspirational phrases. Jeff Barnes read from a 1949 souvenir program of the Stonington Tri-centennial in which North Stonington participated.
Our Oct. 14 program is in the hands of the Legislative Committee. On Oct. 28 we will hold our annual Halloween Party. There will be no meeting that night and the party begins at 7:30. Come in costume and bring the grandkids. Prizes will be awarded for costumes and games, with activities for all ages and spooky refreshments. And if we can just get a little moisture from those clouds that drift by occasionally, next time we’ll tell you all about superb September. |
