MAY 18, 2015 -- We were fortunate to have Maggie Buck, from the State Grange Membership Committee, as our guest speaker. She gave HGers many insightful suggestions on methods we might use to obtain and retain new members.
Also in March, Maggie Buck and George Ward spent a wintry Saturday afternoon at Benedicts Home and Garden “poultry seminar” in Monroe. Sharing a booth with the Fairfield County Connecticut Farm Bureau, they handed out information and membership applications and explained, to those interested, the purpose/mission of the Grange in hopes some would consider joining. It was a successful event with roughly a dozen people expressing interest in joining. HG appreciates Benedicts allowing us to set up a booth with literature to be handed out and the opportunity to speak with their customers about the Grange.
Plans are progressing for HG’s upcoming 125th Anniversary Celebration and HG’s Agricultural Fair. |
