APRIL 12, 2015 -- We draped our charter in memory of Joyce Carvutto, GS who passed away in early January. Many thanks to Bil Mikulewicz who gave a wonderful and informative presentation on raising backyard chickens. Bil’s talk attracted a crowd of 38 persons, which is the largest gathering we have had for any meeting night program in recent years. There will be several families in the area beginning their journey with backyard chickens this spring as a result of Bil’s talk. A very interesting program on beekeeping was presented to a small but attentive audience; where attendees learned about the equipment used in apiculture, and the agricultural benefits that bees provide.
Our rescheduled program on Cardiac Health will take place on May 7th with guest speaker Nancy Capelle, a cadiac arrest survivor. This is a program of great interest to young and old.
As a result of our Cheesemaking and Backyard Chicken programs, we are delighted to warmly welcome three new members to our Grange: Gena and Michael Greer, and Pamela Lillis.
Our program series theme this year is Healthy Living, and we are presenting informative seminars to aid Grangers and friends to make healthy choices in the foods we eat, how to ensure our own personal health and well-being, how to provide for others, and ways to relax.
Ideas are starting percolate regarding our 83rd Agricultural Fair set for August 30th. Please circle the date on your calendar to come visit our fair; it is one of the nicest little fairs to be seen!
Please note our meeting schedule. Visiting Patrons are always welcome -- won’t you join us?
