APRIL 18, 2015 -- Winchester Grange is hosting a special music-filled evening on Tuesday, May 12th, when they welcome the Cherry Brook Chimes Bell Choir from the First Congregational Church of Canton Center, directed by Mary Lou Keefe. The evening will begin with a community potluck supper at 6:00 PM, with the concert following at 7:30 PM. Winchester Grange Hall is located at 100 Newfield Road, Winchester Center, Connecticut.
There is no admission charge, but those attending are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to local area food banks and soup kitchens. You do not have to be a Grange member to attend - the evening is open to everyone.
The Cherry Brook Chimes Bell Choir was organized in 1982, and since has been active in the First Congregational Church of Canton Center by not only providing music for regular church services, but performing at various other venues and festivals throughout New England. The choir consists of five octaves of bells and 4 octaves of chimes.
The program will include a cross-section of music with everything from beautifully arranged hymns and classics to Broadway hits and newly-composed bell pieces.
