MARCH 4, 2015 -- Greetings Grangers - As is everybody else, we are snowed in at the present. All done with the Super Bowl, I hope your team won. We at the Meriden Grange will be having a teddy bear drive for S.A.F.E, a national organization which collects gently used teddy bears & other stuffed pets, to have on hand for first respondors when a child is involved. We ask that any bears be clean, have no odors or tears, and absolutely NO BATTERIES.
We will be collecting bears during our meeting on 2/13 and at our dinner in March. Keep in mind our anniversary is in March and I would love for the Grange to have a huge delivery to the CT S.A.F.E. person in Hebron.
Our meeting on the 13th will have Sugar, Sugar as the progam, I’m sure we will have something for those with a sweet tooth. Valentine’s Day is not just for lovers, it is a good excuse to celebrate during the dark winter time. Pouring over seed catalogs with their cheerful pictures help with the winter doldrums too.
We had fun at our Jan. meeting when our members shared their hobbies. It was fun to learn a little more about our fellow Grangers. Most everyone had fun with the assignment of drawing a Grange member. I hope to have a small gallery of our efforts with a “guess the Granger” sheet.
Hope to see you before Spring.
