NOVEMBER 10, 2014 -- Wallingford Grange has had a busy past few months. On Aug. 26 there was a very short business meeting and discussion of the then upcoming Fair.
On Sept. 11- “Fair Work Night” – this was strictly a work night for the fair.
On Sept. 13 – from 10 A.M. to 9 P.M. we held our 80th Annual Fair. All departments were well represented. There was marked increases in the number of needlework exhibits. We had vendors on the front lawn and all seemed to be making out well. The Grange food booth was busy most of the day. We had some games and coloring books for the kids and they were being well used. The weather was fair most of the day but just as the Chicken Barbecue Dinner was to start it started to rain. So this might have dampened some last minute sales but we did manage to sell close to 150 dinners which was up from last year. The Record-Journal sent a reporter down to cover our Fair and there was a very positive article on our Fair the next day. Then we were even mentioned in the opinion page under the “Likes” of the week the next Saturday. See www.Myrecord-journal.com and search for “grange.”
On Sept. 25 we held our Installation of Officers with Jody Cameron and Jeff Barnes’ installation team doing the honors in a beautiful ceremony. Most of the officers went back in again this year but Anne Cella will be our new Lecturer.
Don’t miss our Tag & Bake Sale on November 8 from 8 A.M. to 12 Noon.
On November 13- “Cooking Demonstration” by Robin and Anne. Refreshments will be from the cooking demo. |
