  OCTOBER 29, 2014 --

Ekonk Community Grange's recent meet the candidates night was a tremendous success with 49 present.  Rep. Stuart Norman and Dem. Paul Brycki both attended.  They are childhood friends and were cordial, answering numerous questions from the audience.  The Bulletin newspaper came and the event made the front page!  Thanks to Bill Sebastian for serving as Moderator.

We hosted the National Representatives at our hall with a supper Oct. 15th.  This has become a wonderful tradition and the Juniors and families truly enjoy this event.  We participated in the Sterling Farm Day in October and sponsored a pumpkin carving for all age groups including adults.  Thanks to Jai Izzarelli for Chairing this event!  Link Cooper manned the grill and hotdogs were sold throughout the day.

We participated in the 2nd annual Voluntown Volunteers Day Farmers Market with a table display and passing out Grange information.  Congratulations to Sarah Cousens and Nate Gengarella who will be married this November..  The do incredible teamwork working in the kitchen at Grange suppers!  We hear from Christopher Sebastian through social media communication.  He loves Washington, D.C. where he is attending George Washington University.  Someday, he might be President!

We welcomed Jack Cottrell at our Oct. meeting.  Despite being sick, he not only visited Ekonk, but presented our Grange with $500.00 from Richmond Grange for our help in their Shaved Steak booth at Washington County Fair last August!  We have a fantastic comradeship with Richmond Grange!
