SEPTEMBER 4, 2014 -- Hillstown Grange’s Annual Agricultural Fair will be held on Saturday, September 13, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Grange Hall is located at 617 Hills Street, East Hartford, CT.
The public is invited to enter their needle work, flowers, crafts, hobbies, vegetables, bake goods, jams, and jellies. Cash prizes are awarded to winning entries. This year’s special contests are for the largest Amaranth plume and the longest cucumber. NOTE all items for judging must be at the Grange on Friday, September 12th between 5 and 7 p.m.
Fair food available from 11 to 1 p.m. will be a ‘Picnic at the Grange’ with mouth watering hot dogs and hamburgers with our own special toppings of fried peppers and onions along with fresh relish, corn on the cob, salad, and dessert. This years featured dessert will be strawberry short cake.
A tea cup type raffle and a bake sale which usually runs out of pies by 1 p.m. will be held so get here early to get a homemade pie.
Gramma’s Attic Sale will be held upstairs. Also this year is a book sale with bag of books special prices.
The Hillstown Grange Fair is the only local Agricultural Fair, serving the towns of East Hartford, Glastonbury, and Manchester for 125 years, come feel the history.
