| AUGUST 5, 2014 -- I know you haven’t heard from Oxford Grange for awhile in the Granger. That’s because I forget to correspond when I should. I would like to thank the very nice person who has publicized some of our events for us. The notices regarding our business fair in May and our gardening series earlier in the spring where very nice.
For those of you who visit our Grange from time to time, you know we are struggling like many Granges. Keeping our organization alive and our hall kept up, with a very small work force has been a challenge. We hope our future is about to become much brighter. We have done a small membership drive and have found nine new members as of today. We also have the prospects of gaining a few more in the next week as we have applications out to some interested parties. Master Jody Cameron has agreed to come and speak to our new members this coming Sunday to inspire and direct them. Yes, that was his part of the arrangement. Mine was to sign up ten new members. Ahh got to get a least one more by Sunday.
How, I know you are all asking how did this come about. We started with people we know that live in Oxford, many of these people we have asked before. we explained to them that the Grange really needed them. We asked them to join us for a year for the purposes of running programs that will benefit the community of Oxford. Some people did say no, but nine have said yes and they just might be the nine people we need. |
