JULY 6, 2014 -- The Bridgewater Grange joined in the Memorial Day parade in the town of Bridgewater. The parade started at 8 AM on Monday May 26. The parade route itself was short. Nine of our members marched along with state representative Arthur O,Neill. At the end of the parade we watched a nice memorial service on the Bridgewater Green which was right across from our hall.
On Wednesday June 11 at 7:30 PM we had our regular meeting. We had special guests, Geno Piacentini and Karen MacDonald of the Fairfield County Pomona. We had a spirited meeting and everyone agreed to commit to a presence in the Bridgewater Fair on August 17, 18 and 19. We also had a fine program talk by our new member Riva Martin. Riva , along with another new member Graham Baldwin, are running the Sullivan Farm in New Milford. Both are young and very serious about a career in farming. Riva displayed a good knowledge on the subject and a great ability to present it well. She talked about how cows are judged. We all learned lot about cows. We also learn what a rigorous systematic training she took in order to be a good judge of cows.
