Around The Grange
Easter egg hunt this Saturday at Norfield Grange

By Lyn Kimberly (Weston Forum; 4/17/14)

  APRIL 17, 2014 --

Weston residents and other community members are invited to join the Norfield Grange’s friends, a giant bunny and a giant cow, who will host two egg hunts during the winter farmers’ market this Saturday, April 19.

Visitors are asked to bring their own basket and an adult chaperone and hunt for eggs (find a treasure hidden in every plastic egg).

The bunny and cow will rope off the parking lot and side lawns for the treasure hunts.

At noon the whistle will blow for all kids under 5 years old to hunt for hundreds of eggs.

At 12:20, the lawns will be restocked for the bigger kids and the whistle will sound for the second hunt for “The Golden Egg” (winner takes home a farmers’ market surprise) plus hunt for hundreds of plastic- filled eggs.

At the farmers’ market, there will be farm-fresh seasonal produce and herbs, jams, jellies, honey, maple syrup, cheese and yogurt, eggs, beef and pork, poultry, wild-caught seafood, and baked goods.

Local crafters and artisans are selling artwork, pottery, jewelry, fresh-cut flowers, live plants, soap and body products, hats, hair accessories, and more.

After the hunt, lunch items will be available from market vendors.

The market is open every Saturday through May 3, from 10 to 2 at the Norfield Grange, 12 Good Hill Road.
