APRIL 1, 2014 -- We had a fabulous time with our wonderful friends from Richmond Grange; we took them a program (23 from Ekonk went) and enjoyed their warm welcome, hospitality and delicious refreshments! Our teenage gentlemen were rather interested in the three Graces that Richmond has (hmmm). We got together Friday, March 14th at Ekonk with Richmond, sharing pizza & their brownies & ice cream. This was followed by volleyball in the Municipal gym and games for the non-volleyball enthusiasts at our hall; a wonderful time was had by all! We so look forward to them bringing us their fun program Monday, April 7th. In April we will host our biennial FFA appreciation supper; we have MANY Killingly High School FFA Alumni as well as current students in the program.
We are excited about our 125th (Subordinate and 35th (Junior) Anniversary celebration-coming fast-Sunday, April 6th at 2:00 p.m. SHARPE. The committee of Link Cooper; Paulette Craig; Bill Sebastian; David and Sue Griffiths and Russell and Sue Gray have worked diligently to assure that everything will run smoothly and be very entertaining. Link has quite a repertoire of jokes sure to make you laugh! We have an excellent guest pianist coming and a specially designed cake being made as well as a short movie telling our Grange story created by Bill Sebastian. Ekonk Hill Turkey Farm is also making its first ever “125th anniversary special” flavor of ice cream and donating it for the occasion-I know what Elena is putting in it and it sounds scrumptious! Link Cooper is also heading more improvements on our kitchen, making it more inviting that ever! Our attendance has been high even with the cold of winter; we hope even more will attend when the weather finally breaks!
