Glastonbury Grange News for April

By Kathryn Ruff

  APRIL 2, 2014 --

I hope by the time you are reading this Spring will be upon us.  Today it is overcast and 33 degrees, with another snow storm approaching.  I hope we only get about one inch.

April is the Bake Off for the Caramel Rocky Road Bars.  I hope several members will bring in an entry for judging.  It is a tasty recipe.  Do try it.

Remember, we are collecting “re-gifted articles” for the Glastonbury Social Service Department.  The April meeting is the final evening to bring in an item or two or three for the collection box.

The April meeting is also the “skit night” when we will practice the skit that will be our entry in the “Skit Contest” for the May 3 Pomona competition night.  It should be a fun night.

Bring a friend or two with you to the April 12 card party.  It is a fun evening with plenty of refreshments.

The May 1 meeting is May Flowers and is our annual Memorial Service evening.  The CWA is also going to put on part of the program.  The refreshment committee is Priscilla Schmartz and Ann and Dan Posuniak.

Remember:  May 3 is our Semi-Annual Food and Tag Sale.  All the members will be getting a phone call asking for your assistance.  May 10th is the next to last card party of the season.  Hope to see you there!
