FEBRUARY 5, 2014 -- Our holiday program was a joyous event. The hall was decorated from the sparkly wreaths welcoming everyone on the front doors to the glittering tree on the stage upstairs. Sue’s program was a mixture of prose, poetry, music and tableaux, with Andy Rauch accompanying the Christmas carols on the piano. Santa arrived with gifts for young and old from his bag; and the Grange provided crisp apples and a variety of ornaments for all. Downstairs the refreshment table overflowed with delicious food; and there was hot chocolate with whipped cream available.
On the third Friday a “small but mighty” band of Grangers braved the cold to visit members and non-members around town, caroling and delivering baskets of fresh fruit. The evening ended at a local pizza restaurant.
On Feb. 14 Andy Rauch will treat us to a piano concert. We have heard this young man play before and can tell you this is an event not to be missed. On Feb. 28 the Agriculture and Conservation Committee will present the program. This is always a favorite with the members. And if Old Man Winter will just not bare his teeth too badly for the next few months, next time I’ll tell you all about jolly January.
