Around The Grange
Cheshire Grange Transportation Program with Richard DeLuca 3/5

The public is invited to attend a program at Cheshire Grange featuring a presentation by local author and historian Richard DeLuca on Wednesday, March 5, 2014. The presentation is titled “Transportation in Cheshire during the 19th Century” and will start at 7:30 PM at the Grange Hall, 44 Wallingford Road, Cheshire. It is in conjunction with the Committee on Women's Activities theme “Follow The Yellow Brick Road.”

This program is family friendly and will be of interest to both adults and children. There is no charge for admission. The presentation will be followed by a Teacup Auction and refreshments.

Richard DeLuca has worked as a transportation planner in Connecticut for ten years and written on regional transportation for “Connecticut History” and the “Encyclopedia of Connecticut History Online.” He is the author of “Post Roads and Iron Horses,” which looks at transportation in Connecticut “from Colonial Times to the Age of Steam.”  He is currently working on a companion volume which will cover transportation on Connecticut in the twentieth century.
