Central Pomona November News

By Bob Charbonneau

  NOVEMBER 9, 2013 --

Central Pomona is now going forward with Normand Manning, our new President.  The new officers were installed September 26th at Higganum Grange Hall by Connecticut State Grange Secretary, Edith Schoell.  This was an open meeting.  Along with the new slate of officers, we have now stepped up to increase our publicity by starting Central Pomona Grange Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Our meeting on October 24th was held at Southington Grange Hall.  Normand Manning held his first regular meeting as President.  Norm reported on State Grange Session during new business.  Our Literary Program was entitled, “Halloween - Ghosts and Ghouls.”  Secretary, Cindy Charbonneau was in charge of the program.  She had several readings on the history of Jack-O-Lanterns and Halloween, along with getting everyone up to sing “Harvest Song.”  There was a comical Top Ten list which was ... “You know you’re too old to go out Trick or Treating...”

Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, December 12 at Hemlock Grange Hall in Portland.
