Prospect Grange November News

By Jean Meehan

  NOVEMBER 7, 2013 --

We are happy that Mary Raymond was our second delegate to the State Grange.  It has been more than 20 years since we have had two delegates at State Grange.  Thank you Mary.  Also we would like to welcome Diane and Denise Barbieri as new members of Prospect.

This was our 12th year of being able to give the gift of words to the Third Graders.  October 11 five of our members helped give out  more than 110 dictionaries to the Third Graders at Algonquin Elementary School in Prospect, along with the favorite book worm book markers.  We were also able to donate 4 books to the school library along with nearly 100 boxtops for kids and Campbell soup labels.

Members have been hard at work making 150 favors for the Prospect Senior Center’s Halloween Party.  Favors were also made for the local convalescent home for the patients.  We are working on favors for Thanksgiving as well.

Mittens and gloves have been collected for the National Grange Mitten Tree.  We are hoping a few of our members will be able to go the the National Grange Convention being held in Manchester New Hampshire.

We will continue to collect jackets and sweaters for our Operation Cold Weather to be donated to the local Homeless Shelter.  For more information about activities at our grange, please call Jean 203 758 5653.
