AUGUST 7, 2013 -- We do not have a first meeting in August because of vacations.
At our June 24 meeting we had a special celebration. It was a dark and stormy night but the members of Redding Grange, along with twenty-eight visitors, gathered to join Bob and Marge Sendewicz in celebrating their fiftieth wedding anniversary.
Just as the meeting was closing the power went out. With the emergency light in the hall and several candles placed about, the party went on. During the party a special visitor arrived. State Senator Robert Duff, who is the grandson of Horton and Dot Duff and a member of Redding Grange, presented the happy couple with a proclamation from the State Senate and one from Governor Dannel Malloy honoring them on their anniversary.
Everyone had a great time and Bob and Marge thank all our friends who planned the party and all our friends who traveled on such a bad night, and to all our friends that sent us happy greetings. You are a wonderful extended family.
