JULY 5, 2013 -- The June meeting of Whigville Grange began with a Dairy supper. An amazing array of dishes were served, reflecting the abundant amount of dairy products available. Our Charter was draped in memory of Sister Janet Schwalm, who will be greatly missed. Janet was a tireless worker for many organizations, including our Grange. “Birthdays” was our meeting theme. Lecturer Helena Schwalm out did herself once again. We even had cupcakes and candles!!! Thank you to Mary Lou Keefe, who was our pianist for thr evening. Her husband Peter came to inspect us.Thank you Peter. In July we will hold a bake sale at Adams Grocery in Terryville. We have some exciting news to share!!! Sister Helena Schwalm has been chosen Plymouth’s volunteer of the year!!!
This award goes to a deserving citizen each year. Nominees are submitted by the community, and a committee makes the final decision. Helena is involved in the Grange, her Church, the Terryville Seniors, and so much more. Have a wonderful summer, your friends at Whigville Grange. |
