JUNE 13, 2013 -- "Take Dad Out For Dessert" on Father's Day, June 16, when Winchester Grange presents its annual Strawberry Festival at the Grange Hall on the Green in Winchester Center.
The festival features the area's largest servings of Strawberry Shortcake made with fresh strawberries, homemade biscuits and freshly whipped cream.
The Festival will begin at 2:00 PM and will run until it sells out. The price is $6.00 for adults and $3.50 for a children's serving. Take-outs and items baked by the members of Winchester Grange will be available. The Winsted Laurel Queen will also be on hand, making her first official appearance after being crowned.

Getting to Winchester Center: From Winsted, take Route 263 to the Winchester Center green. From Torrington, take Newfield Road (at the corner of Winsted Rd. and N. Main St.) to the Winchester Center green. Winchester Grange is located at 100 Newfield Road.
Formed January 2, 1888, the Grange is one of the largest Community Granges east of the Mississippi River in membership, and is extremely active in the Winchester Center community, holding numerous programs and events year-round. Winchester Grange is celebrating its 125th Anniversary throughout 2013. |
