JUNE 8, 2013 -- Breaking News: Our Worthy Patroness Flora will be leaving Norfield Grange for the University of Connecticut next fall, with a five-year double major in Classics (Latin and Greek) and Education. Gratulationes, Catharine!
On Earth Day, April 27, we celebrated with a picnic on the side lawn during the Farmers’ Market, played badminton and lawn games, too, and then went for guided walks through the Katherine Ordway Preserve.
At our April meeting we draped our Charter for Betty Miller. Proposed and passed at the meeting were a $350 scholarship for Camp Berger and a $500 scholarship for Catharine Kimberly. Heather Wilson donated a dishwasher to Norfield Grange, which was turned over to the Buildings and Grounds Committee.
Our last Farmers’ Market for the season was on May 4. It will reopen n November 23, for its fourth season. Also on May 4 we held a lively Kentucky Derby viewing and party.
And so, on to summer. It was quite a year!
