| MAY 1, 2013 -- Plans for our 81st annual Agricultural Fair are coming along and want everyone to know that the date is August 18th, rain or shine. We’re planning on some changes that should make our fair still one of the nicest local fairs in CT. Please circle the date on your calendars.
We enjoyed a very nice Neighbor’s Night on April 18th, and we thank Doug, Michelle and Peggy for coordinating the dinner.
Upcoming meetings that should be of great interest to young and old are listed above. Especially, take note of the June 20th meeting with the special program “A Healthier You”. Come hear and learn how you can lead a healthy life style through proper diet, exercise and outlook.
Our Grange celebrates it’s 114th anniversary on Mary 4th (the actual day).
Several of our Grange members report that they already have seeds in the ground, and many things already “up”. What have you planted.
We are sad to note that we have draped our charter in memory of Grange member, Mary Offinger, who passed away on March 19th at home. Mary was an integral part of the annual agricultural fair for many years as a judge in baked goods and sewing, and then running the Baked Goods department for as long as some can remember. Mary was always an avid supporter of special Grange projects and programs such as the Silent Movie Night, Neighbor’s Night Dinners, and the recent purchase of the Grange’s AED.
