MAY 1, 2013 -- EXHALE! It’s over! The 125th Anniversary celebration of Winchester Grange was a great success and we thank everyone who attended, participated and supported the event. We were pleased to have two State Senators, a Winsted Selectman and the Town Manager with us for the afternoon along with reporters from the Hartford Courant and the Waterbury Republican. Additional thanks to Ramona Fassio, Lecturer and Terri Fassio for organizing the program and to State Master Jody Cameron for being our keynote speaker. In addition to the proclamations from the Legislature and the Town of Winchester, we also received a proclamation from Senator Blumenthal and Governor Malloy declared April 14 Winchester Grange Day in Connecticut. Happy birthday Winchester Grange!
Several new members will be joining Winchester as a result of the anniversary hoopla and Rev. Hall at the Winchester Center Cong. Church is interested in reviving a community-wide event for the fall after seeing how closely we have worked together in the past with events like the Blueberry Bazaar (NO-- we’re not reviving that!).
We are including an excellent article written by the Republican on the day’s events. Please read it for more detail and note the calendar of events above. There’s always something coming up at Winchester Grange!
