APRIL 20, 2013 -- Bristol residents Cheyenne O’ Donnell and Makendra Mowad will be hosting the first Wolcott Grange Pet and Rescue Expo to raise money for the Wolcott Dog Park. It will be held Saturday, April 20th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Grange, 313 Boundline Road.
The Wolcott Grange specializes in helping local charities and animal rescues. It serves both the Wolcott and Bristol communities.
Guests will include Spotty Dog Rescue, Friends of Feral Cats of Cheshire, Wolcott Vet, Hillside Equestrian Meadows and Kensington Bird Hospital. There will be horse-and-carriage rides and a pot-luck lunch held at noon.
A small stone garden will be dedicated to Desmond, a rescue dog that was killed by his adopter in the New Haven area, and to all animal victims of abuse.
There is no fee for admission but donations for the dog park are welcome. Donations can also be mailed to Wolcott Grange, P.O. Box 6417, Wolcott, CT 06716.
