Winchester Grange to host Junior Grange Open House April 20
  APRIL 17, 2013 --

Winchester Grange will hold an Open House to promote and recruit for the new Winchester Junior Grange on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 2:00 P.M.  This will be the kick-off event of our drive to re-organize Winchester Junior Grange.  Leader Nichole Miller has a fun and informative afternoon planned.

Children ages 5 through 14 are eligible to belong to the Junior Grange whether or not they come from a Grange family. This open house will welcome children (and parents) from the area interested in being a part of the new Winchester Junior Grange. Winchester Grange previously sponsored a Junior Grange for nearly 60 years.

The Junior Grange programs are created to develop and hone individual talents, build self-confidence, increase participation in Grange activities and provide leadership training. Members between five and 14 years old have fun while learning responsibilities and concern for their communities in activities that stress family values.  Junior Granges conduct their own meetings and through this experience young members learn leadership, initiative and good citizenship skills.

The Open House is free to attend.  Membership in Winchester Junior Grange will not be limited to the Winchester Center community... children will be welcomed from throughout the area.

For more information, contact Winchester Grange President Todd Gelineau at 860-626-0326, via e-mail at info@winchestergrange.org or visit our website at http://www.WinchesterGrange.org.

Getting to Winchester Center: From Winsted, take Route 263 to the Winchester Center green. From Torrington, take Newfield Road (at the corner of Winsted Rd. and N. Main St.) to the Winchester Center green.  Winchester Grange is located at 100 Newfield Road.

Formed January 2, 1888, Winchester Grange is one of the largest Community Granges east of the Mississippi River in membership, and is extremely active in the Winchester Center community, holding numerous programs and events year-round. Winchester Grange is celebrating its 125th Anniversary throughout 2013.
